The homeowners of this classic 1920s English Tudor style brick home had a wonderful vision for improving the design and flow of the home. Because the home is built on a hill, the majority of the outdoor play and entertaining space is in the front so we made several changes to improve usage of this space. We replaced the living room windows with French doors to allow direct access to the front yard. We re-oriented the brick front walkway for better curb appeal. We then added a new brick retaining wall finished with wrought iron on top and an entry gate with a custom-built Mangaris wood door and intercom system.

On the interior, we removed an outdated 1980s style kitchen as well as a wall separating the kitchen and breakfast nook. The end result is a bright, open and airy kitchen with a clean look, more efficient use of space and access to beautiful garden views off the breakfast nook. In addition, we updated the laundry room, master bath, children’s bath and with some creative plans, we built a ¾ guest bathroom in what was previously a hall closet.

We are proud of how seamlessly the old and new came together on this project and it feels as if this is how the house was always meant to be.
